আজ শনিবার বিকেল ৫ টায় রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শেখ কামাল স্টেডিয়ামে আয়োজিত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের একাদশ সমাবর্তনে এসব কথা বলেন তিনি। সমাবর্তন অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন রাষ্ট্রপতি মো. আবদুল হামিদ।
এ সময় তিনি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শিক্ষকদের উদ্দেশে বলেন, ‘মনে রাখবেন, আপনারা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক। সাধারণ মানুষ আপনাদেরকে সম্মান ও মর্যাদার উচ্চাসনে দেখতে চায়। তাই ব্যক্তিগত চাওয়া-পাওয়ার জন্য নীতি ও আদর্শের সাথে আপোষ করবেন না। আপনাদের মর্যাদা আপনাদেরকে সমুন্নত রাখতে হবে। ব্যক্তি স্বার্থের কাছে আদর্শ যাতে ভূলুণ্ঠিত না হয় সে দায়িত্ব আপনাদেরকে নিতে হবে।
এ সময় গ্রাজুয়েটদের উদ্দেশে রাষ্ট্রপতি বলেন, ‘তোমরা গ্রাজুয়েটরা দেশের উচ্চতর মানবসম্পদ। দেশের ভবিষ্যৎ উন্নয়ন ও অগ্রগতি নির্ভর করছে তোমাদের ওপর। তোমাদের তারুণ্য জ্ঞান মেধা ও প্রজ্ঞা হবে দেশের উন্নয়নের প্রধান চালিকাশক্তি। দেশের সর্বোচ্চ বিদ্যাপীঠ থেকে একজন গ্র্যাজুয়েট হিসেবে সব সময় সত্য ও ন্যায়কে সমুন্নত রাখবে। নৈতিকতা দিয়ে দুর্নীতি ও অন্যায়ের প্রতিবাদ করবে।’
