নিহত ভ্যানচালক নাটোর সদর উপজেলার দস্তÍনাবাদ (মাঝিপাড়া) গ্রামের আনছার আলী ছেলে। বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল ১১টার সময় ঢাকা-রাজশাহী মহাসড়কের উপজেলার গাওপাড়া ঢালান নামক স্থানে এ দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটে।
প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী সূত্রে জানাগেছে, রাজশাহী থেকে নাটোরগামী বিপ্লব পরিবহন নামের একটি যাত্রীবাহী বাস উক্ত স্থানে পৌছালে ব্রেকফেল হয়ে মহসাড়কের পার্শ্বে দাড়িয়ে থাকা ভ্যানচালক জমসেদ আলীকে চাপা দেয়। সেসময় ভ্যানচালক জমসেদ আলী বাসটির চাকায় পিষ্ট হয়ে ঘটনা স্থলে গুরুত্বর আহত হয়।
পরে এলাকাবাসী তাকে উদ্ধার করে রামেক হাসপাতালে পাঠায়। রামেক হাসপাতালে নেওয়ার পথে জমসেদ আলী মারা যায়। এ ব্যাপারে পুঠিয়া থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ রেজাউল ইসলাম জানান, বাসটিকে আটক করে থানায় নিয়ে আসা হয়েছে এবং একটি দুর্ঘটনায় মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে।
