অপরদিকে এলাকাবাসি ও নিহত সুমনের সহপাঠীরা জানাজা শেষে বোরহানগঞ্জ বাজারে ঘাতকদের ফাঁর্সির দাবিতে মানববন্ধন ও বিক্ষোভ করেছেন।
নিহত সুমনের খালাতো ভাই সজিব ও সোহেল জানান, ২০ জুন সন্ধ্যায় বোরহানগঞ্জ বাজারে চা খাচ্ছিল।এমন সময় হঠাৎ সুমনের ফোনে একটি কল আসে। সুমন আমাদেরকে বসিয়ে রেখে ওইখানে চলে যায়।৯টার দিকে ফোন দিলে সুমন বলে আসছি।তোরা একটু অপেক্ষা কর।এরপর থেকে সুমনকে আর ফোনে পাওয়া যায়নি।
অনেক খোঁজাখুজির পর সুমনে না পেয়ে ২১ জুন তার মা স্থানীয় থানায় একটি সাধারণ ডায়েরি করেন। ওই ডায়েরির সূত্র ধরে মোবাইল ট্রাকিং এর মাধ্যমে ২২ জুন ঘাতক বন্ধু মিঠুকে আটক করে পুলিশ। হত্যাকান্ডের কথা স্বীকার করলে তার দেখানো পক্ষিয়া ইউনিয়নের ৮নং ওয়ার্ডের নির্জন বিলের মধ্যে মোশারফ মোল্লার বাগান থেকে নিহত সুমনের মাটি চাপা দেওয়া লাশ উদ্ধার করা হয়।
মামলার তদন্তকারী কর্মকর্তা এসআই স্বপন কুমার হাওলাদার জানান, ঘটনায় নিহতের মা মমতার বেগম ৩ জনকে নামীয় এবং ৩/৪ জনকে অজ্ঞাত করে সোমবার রাতেই একটি মামলা দায়ের করেন। গ্রেফতারকৃত আসামী মিঠু আদালতে দোষ স্বীকার করে জবানবন্দি প্রদান করেন।অপর আসামি মিঠুর ভাই রাসেলকে ৭দিনের রিমান্ড আবেদন করলে আদালত ৩ দিনের রিমান্ড মঞ্জুর করেন।
বোরহানউদ্দিন থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ মু.এনামুল হক জানান,মুক্তিপণের জন্যই মূলত এক মর্মান্তিক হত্যাকান্ড ।গ্রেফতারকৃত মিঠু বিঞ্জ আদালতে ১৬৪ ধারায় জবানবন্দি প্রদান করেন।অপর আসামি রাসেদের ৩ দিনের রিমান্ড মঞ্জুর করা হয়েছে।
