তার মৃত্যুতে পুঠিয়া-দুর্গাপুরের জাতীয় পার্টির সাবেক সাংসদ আবুল হোসেন শোক জানিয়েছেন। রোববার (২৬ জুলাই) দুপুরে প্রেরিত এক শোক বার্তায় পুঠিয়া-দুর্গাপুরের সাবেক সাংসদ আবুল হোসেন এবং পুঠিয়া উপজেলা, পৌরসভা ও ইউনিয়ন জাতীয় পার্টিসহ তাদের সকল অংঙ্গ সংগঠনের নেতৃবৃন্দ মরহুমের বিদেহী আত্মার মাগফেরাত কামনা করে শোক সন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জ্ঞাপন করেছেন।
মরহুমের পারিবারিক সূত্রে জানাগেছে, পুঠিয়া উপজেলার ভালুকগাছি ইউনিয়নের ফুলবাড়ী হাজীপাড়া নিবাসী পুঠিয়া উপজেলা জাতীয় পার্টির সভাপতি ও উপজেলা জাতীয় পার্টির সিনির্য় সহ-সভাপতি আলহাজ্ব আসাদুল ইসলাম আসাদ ঢাকার ইউনাইটেড হাসপাতালে দুরারোগ্য ব্যাধি ক্যান্সারে আক্রান্ত হয়ে চিকিৎসাধীন ছিলেন।
রোববার সকাল ৬টার ঢাকার ইউনাইটেড হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় তিনি মৃত্যু বরণ করেন। মৃত্যুকালে তার বয়স হয়েছিল ৬৬ বছর। তিনি স্ত্রী, এক মাত্র ছেলে খুলনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিÿক ডক্টর সোহাগ ছাড়াও তিন মেয়ে ও অসংখ্য গুনগ্রাহী রেখে গেছেন। আজ রোববার বিকাল সাড়ে পাঁচটায় তার গ্রামের বাড়ি ফুলবাড়ীতে নামাজের জানাযা শেষে পারিবারিক গোস্থানে তাকে দাফন করা হবে।
