দিনাজপুর প্রতিনিধি:- দিনাজপুরের ঘোড়াঘাট উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (ইউএনও) ওয়াহিদা খানম ও তার বাবা মুক্তিযোদ্ধা ওমর আলীকে কুপিয়ে গুরুতর জখম করেছে দুর্বৃত্তরা।
বুধবার দিবাগত রাত ৩টার দিকে উপজেলার নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তার সরকারি বাসভবনে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। তাদের রংপুর মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে পাঠানো হয়েছে।
ঘোড়াঘাট থানা পুলিশ জানায়, বুধবার দিবাগত রাত ৩টার দিকে উপজেলা পরিষদ ক্যাম্পাসে অবস্থিত ইউএনওর বাসভবনের টয়লেটের ভেল্টিলেটর ভেঙে দুর্বৃত্তরা প্রবেশ করে।
ইউএনও টের পেলে দুর্বৃত্তরা তাকে সরাসরি ধারালো অস্ত্র দিয়ে মাথায় আঘাত করে। এ সময় তার বাবা এগিয়ে এলে দুর্বৃত্তরা তাকেও আঘাত করে পালিয়ে যায়।
রাতেই রক্তাক্ত ইউএনওকে উদ্ধার করে রংপুর মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়। ঘটনার খবর পেয়ে সকালে দিনাজপুর জেলা প্রশাসক মাহমুদুল আলম ও পুলিশ সুপার আনোয়ার হোসেনসহ পুলিশের ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তারা ঘটনাস্থল উপস্থিত হয়েছেন।
ঘোড়াঘাট থানা পুলিশের ওসি আমিরুল ইসলাম জানান, ঠিক কী কারণে এ ঘটনা ঘটেছে তা জানা যায়নি। বিষয়টি তদন্ত করা হচ্ছে।
দিনাজপুর জেলা প্রশাসক মো. মাহমুদুল আলম এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করে জানান, ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে বিস্তারিত জানার পর এ বিষয়ে জানাতে পারবেন বলে জানান তিনি।
উল্লেখ্য, ঘোড়াঘাট উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা ওয়াহিদা খানমের স্বামী রংপুর জেলার পীরগঞ্জ উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা হিসেবে কর্মরত আছেন। ওয়াহিদা খানমের সঙ্গে বাবা ওমর আলী থাকতেন।
