৪. পেঁয়াজের বদলে বেল পেপার কিংবা ক্যাপসিকাম ব্যবহার করতে পারেন। ক্যাপসিকাম খাবারের স্বাদ বাড়াবে। ভাজি, মাছ বা মাংসের ঝোলে ক্যাপসিকামের ঝাঁজালো স্বাদ ও গন্ধ কিন্তু দারুণ।
৫. মাংস কিংবা মাছের ঝোল ঘন করতে পেঁয়াজের বদলে পরিমাণমতো পেঁপে বাটা ব্যবহার করতে পারেন। এতে মাছ-মাংসের আঁশটে গন্ধ দূর হবে ও ঝোলও ঘন হবে।
