ময়মনসিংহে ‘বন্দুকযুদ্ধে’ যুবক নিহত
এম.সাইফুল আলমঃ- ময়মনসিংহের ভালুকা উপজেলায় পুলিশের সঙ্গে ‘বন্দুকযুদ্ধে’ এক যুবক নিহত হয়েছেন। নিহতের নাম সাদ্দাম হোসেন (২৮)।
পুলিশের দাবি, নিহত সাদ্দাম ডাকাত সর্দার। তার বিরুদ্ধে ডাকাতিসহ চারটি মামলা রয়েছে। সাদ্দাম গফরগাঁও উপজেলার শিবগঞ্জ এলাকার ফজলুল হকের ছেলে।
বুধবার দিবাগত রাত দেড়টার দিকে উপজেলার মামারিশপুর এলাকায় এ ‘বন্দুকযুদ্ধের’ ঘটনা ঘটে।
ভালুকা মডেল থানার ওসি (তদন্ত) মাজহারুল হক জানান, গোপন খবর পেয়ে রাত দেড়টার দিকে উপজেলার মামারিশপুর এলাকায় অভিযান চালায় পুলিশের টহল দল।
এ সময় ডাকাতদল পুলিশের উপস্থিতি টের পেয়ে তাদের লক্ষ্য করে হামলা ও গুলি চালায়। পুলিশ আত্মরক্ষার্থে গুলি ছোড়ে।
এক পর্যায়ে সহযোগীরা পালিয়ে যায়। পরে ঘটনাস্থল থেকে গুলিবিদ্ধ অবস্থায় সাদ্দামকে উদ্ধার করে ময়মনসিংহ মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যায় পুলিশ। সেখানে দায়িত্বরত চিকিৎসক তাকে মৃত ঘোষণা করেন।
নিহত সাদ্দামের নামে ডাকাতি, মাদকসহ চারটি মামলা রয়েছে বলে জানান পুলিশের ওই কর্মকর্তা।
